International Mother Languages Day: Salzburg Statement for a Multilingual World

In December 2017 Salzburg Global Seminar organized and hosted the meeting  Springboard for Talent: Language Learning and Integration in a Globalized World.

One of the outcomes of the meeting was the Salzburg Statement for a Multilingual World, which has been published today, on International Mother Languages Day.  The statement is available in more than 40 different languages and more will be added over the coming weeks.

The statement has two key purposes: firstly to raise awareness of the vital issues it covers with policy makers and people of influence and secondly to serve as an advocacy tool for minority groups around the world. The team will be organizing a series of webinars later this year to discuss the statement and will publish an impact report in the Autumn showing how and where it has been used.
