"What is our future with China?"

This Autumn Plenary event is at Augustine United Church, 41 George IV Bridge, Edinburgh EH11EL and you are most warmly welcome.

The SCCG is delighted to welcome an excellent panel of speakers for their panel session:

Caroline Fielder (Lecturer in Chinese Studies, University of Leeds)

Simon MacAulay (Chair, SCEN - Scotland China Education Network)

John MacMillan (CEO, The Eric Liddell Centre)

The morning will also provide an opportunity to get a brief update about the projects the SCCG is involved in with their partners in China in Shenyang, Shanghai and Nanjing. These are varied and range from projects supporting children with additional educational support needs, to projects which help train medical staff involved in palliative and end of life care.

The schedule for the morning is:

10:45 - Arrival & coffees

11:00 - Welcome & update

11:30 - Panel session speakers, followed by Q+A

13:00 - Buffet Lunch

The Scottish Churches China Group (SCCG) is an ecumenical charity, formed in 1983.

They are a group of individuals and church representatives who are committed to supporting health and education programmes run by Chinese partners in Shenyang, Nanjing and Shanghai.

Their aim is to help advance health, education and social welfare for those living in China. They do this through teacher and medical personnel exchanges; scholarships; providing visiting experts and speakers; ongoing training programmes in education, palliative, rehabilitation and spiritual care. Through this work, they also seek to advance, encourage and support Christian witness in China.

The Scottish Churches China Group is a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation (SCIO). Scottish Charity Number SC033740.
