SCEN is delighted to share details of the 2026 Edinburgh Chinese New Year Concert, which will take place on Sunday, 15 February 2026 at the Usher Hall in Edinburgh.
Since its launch in 2016, with the support of the City of Edinburgh Council, the Chinese Consulate-General in Edinburgh, Bank of China (UK) Limited, and other partners, the Edinburgh Chinese New Year Concert has grown into a distinctive and internationally influential cultural event in the “world capital of arts”, bringing together global audiences and the Chinese community in Scotland to celebrate the New Year.
This year, the concert will again feature the Edinburgh Symphony Orchestra (ESO) performing alongside Chinese musicians, presenting works by composer Bingyuan Cui, including Dun and Huang and Silk Road Orient. The programme celebrates the 40th anniversary of the sister-city relationship between Xi’an and Edinburgh, blending Eastern and Western musical traditions inspired by the Silk Road.
