Chinese Consulate General in Edinburgh's Video Competition

Aim
Enter their video contest by showcasing your interesting CHINA STORY. The Chinese Consulate General in Edinburgh are looking for original videos that showcase your knowledge, experience or connections in relation to China. The aim of this contest is to improve the public understanding of China in Scotland as well as the wider China-Scotland engagement.

Eligibility
The contest is open to people from all walks of life in Scotland.
Participants can enter the contest either individually or as a group. There is no maximum number of competition entries.

Key dates
Contest entry between: 15 March 2021 and 16 May 2021
Video shortlisting and presenting on social media: 1 June 2021 and 25 June 2021
Winner announcement: 30 June 2021

Criteria:

  • We recommend videos to be filmed in a 16:9 ratio.

  • File format: MP4 or AVI. File size limits to 200 mb.

  • The video must have a clear sound.

  • The video should be maximum 5 minutes.

  • Your video should be in English or Chinese. If using English, subtitles should be provided where possible.

The videos must not:
a) disrespectful towards the theme mentioned above
b) include any type of sensitive or graphic content (violence,nudity, or illegal behavior)

Juging criteria:
Prizes will be awarded to videos based on the jury’s decision and the number of reactions to the video on Twitter (@chinacgedi) and WeChat (@ChineseCG_Edin).

How to submit:
All videos must be submitted in a downloadable version at mychinesestory.edi@gmail.com along with the signed entry form.
Your entry is considered as submitted only if you receive confirmation via email.
If you do not receive a confirmation email within 24 hours of submitting (excluding weekends), please resubmit your entry or contact us at the email address provided or call 01313372620.
By applying to the contest, participants agree that the videos submitted may be used by the Consulate-General for promotional, advertising, and written and electronic materials.

Prizes:
The Top Prize: £200/video
Two Second Prizes: £150 each video
Three Third Prizes: £100 each video
The Best Creativity Prize: £150/video
Other contributors on the shortlist for social media can be awarded £50/video.


Winners will be announced via the official website of the Consulate-General, its WeChat and Twitter account.
