An Invitation from the Confucius Institute for Scotland

50 years ago this month the Cultural Revolution started as a political movement, that with its violence, political radicalism and utopianism brought tremendous changes to China's society. Its contested legacy makes it probably still the least understood period of modern China. 

Next week award winning novelist and documentary film maker Xu Xing will visit Edinburgh, and show two of his recent documentaries on the Cultural Revolution. These are: 

* "My Chronicle of the Cultural Revolution", May 26th 17.30 - 19.00

* "Criminal Records" May 27th 17.00 - 19.30 

Both screenings will take place in LG11 on the lower ground floor of the David Hume Tower. Following on from the screening there will be a Q&A and session with the director and a drinks reception.
