The Giant Lanterns of China at Edinburgh Zoo

The Giant Lanterns of China exhibition currently on at Edinburgh Zoo is on from the 1st December 2017 until 25th February 2018. A spectacular exhibition on every evening from 4:30-9pm which includes a marketplace selling traditional Chinese crafts and gifts, as well as acrobatic shows at 6pm, 7pm, and 8pm.

A beautiful event bringing Chinese culture to Edinburgh through over four hundred and fifty individual lanterns, the Giant Lanterns of China exhibition is informative and awe-inspiring. Over sixteen thousand meters of silk was used to create the magnificent display, with around twenty thousand low energy LED lights. From chameleons to pandas, there are so much to see and learn. The zodiac exhibit was my particular favourite, in the centre of it were four dragons created with small glass vials filled with coloured water rather than coloured silk which are very impressive.

The whole exhibition is remarkable and well worth seeing. If you wish to find out more information or would like to book tickets you can click here.
