Confucius Institute for Scotland Chinese Language Summer Courses – 4 July to 5 August

This summer the Confucius Institute for Scotland are offering both Day and Evening classes from 4 July to 5 August. Their diverse programme of evening and day time classes aims to give a wide array of opportunities to start and learn Chinese! In addition to their usual language programme, they will offer five weeks of intensive HSK revision and practice classes. These are ideal for people who are planning to take HSK levels 3 exams this year. Learners will have a total of 12.5 hours led by a teacher over the five week period. Each course is composed of three parts – mock tests, revision, and practice.

All summer classes will be delivered  on Confucius Institute Campus.

Twice Weekly Chinese For Beginners

Mondays & Thursdays, 6pm - 8pm

This course, for beginners of Chinese, offers an introduction to the Chinese pronunciation and writing systems. Basic listening and speaking skills are emphasised along with the study of pinyin, the official Romanisation system for Standard Chinese (普通话, Pŭtōnghuà, literally 'common speech') in mainland China.

Wednesdays, 6pm - 7:30pm

Their study clinics are aimed at the institute's many keen students who want to retain and further their learning over the summer. Their elementary and intermediate level clinics offer consolidation of previous knowledge and the opportunity to discuss specific language issues with our senior tutors. Students are advised to prepare their questions for each session to best use this limited time.
